Sand Lake in Tillamook County is the closest beach riding area. Located 17 miles southwest of Tillamook and 10 miles north of Pacific City. Sand Lake is available for year-round riding. Elevation starts at 25 feet. This area offers open beach riding along the beautiful Oregon coast, large open sand areas, tight trails, and a large sand dune or two. At the higher elevations, you can sit and enjoy the ocean views and beautiful sunsets. It can get cold, even in summer. Dress for weather and wind! At 64 miles, travel time is usually 1 hour and 20 minutes each way.
